Yuchun Lee, CEO, is responsible for Unica's overall strategic direction and day-to-day business operations. Lee co-founded Unica in 1992 to meet the technology needs and challenges facing marketers. Under Lee's leadership and unwavering commitment to customers and their success, Unica's customer base has grown to over 600 worldwide, and its Affinium Suite has garnered top marks from Forrester, Gartner, OVUM, and other top research firms.
A respected thought leader, Lee was selected in October 2005 to serve on the Direct Marketing Association's board of directors. He also holds a seat on the board of directors for Axeda Corporation, a leader in enterprise software for remote services. Lee speaks regularly at industry events and has been quoted in Business Week, Computerworld, DM Review, BtoB Online, Marketing Direct, and Business Finance. A published author, Lee has contributed articles to publications like Executive Technology magazine, has written "The DNA of Smart Business Growth" chapter for the Inside The Minds book series, and has co-authored the book Solving Data Mining Problems Through Pattern Recognition (Prentice-Hall, 1995-1997). Under Lee's leadership, Unica has received top industry and business community recognition. In 2006, Unica was named for the 7th year to the Deloitte and Touche Fast 50 and Fast 500 the only company to be on the Fast 50 for this long. Unica has also been listed on the Forbes Magazine Midas List of 25 fastest growing technology companies, the Software 500 for six consecutive years, and has been ranked for four consecutive years as the top leader in marketing automation by CRM Magazine. In 2006, Lee received a Stevie Award for the category of "Best Executive." In 2002, he earned Ernst & Young's New England Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology Media and Marketing, and in 2000 he was recognized as one of Boston Business Journal's "40 Under 40" successful young business and civic leaders.
Prior to joining Unica, Lee held senior-level positions with Digital Equipment Corporation and M.I.T.'s Lincoln and Media Labs.
Lee holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T. and a Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College.
Aron J. Ain has served as one of our directors since August 2005. Aron Ain was named chief executive officer and a member of Kronos' board of directors in October 2005. From April 2002, Mr. Ain had served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Kronos Incorporated, a provider of workforce management solutions. Mr. Ain has been employed at Kronos Incorporated since 1979 and has been an executive officer since 1988. During the period 1979 to 2002, Mr. Ain has served in various senior management roles at Kronos Incorporated, including as vice president, worldwide sales and service from November 1998 to April 2002.
Bruce R. Evans has served as one of our directors since April 2004, and currently serves as our lead director. Since 1986, Mr. Evans has served in several positions at Summit Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm, including most recently as a Managing Partner. Mr. Evans is also a director of OptionsXpress Holdings, Inc., which offers a suite of brokerage services for stock, mutual fund, option and fixed-income product investors.
Carla Hendra has served as one of our directors since March 2007. Ms. Hendra has served as the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy North America since July 2005, and has been the President of OgilvyOne N.A. since 1998. Ms. Hendra leads the North American region of OgilvyOne Worldwide, the world's leading one-to-one marketing services network. Prior to joining Ogilvy in 1996, Ms. Hendra served as Executive Vice President, Grey Direct, a division of Grey Advertising from 1992 to 1996. Ms. Hendra serves as a director of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide and OgilvyOne Worldwide. Ms. Hendra has also been a director of the Brown Shoe Company, a global retail, e-commerce and manufacturing company, since November 2005.
Jim Perakis has served as one of our directors since February 2000. Since October 2001, Mr. Perakis has served as chairman of Netkey, Inc., a provider of self-service software. From 1985 to 1998, he was chief executive officer of Hyperion Software Corporation, a provider of enterprise financial management and planning software.
Robert P. Schechter has served as one of our directors and the chair of our audit committee since January 7, 2005. Mr. Schechter has served as the president and chief executive officer of NMS Communications Corporation since 1995 and as its chairman of the board since 1996. From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Schechter held various senior executive positions with Lotus Development Corporation, and from 1980 to 1987, he was a partner at Coopers and Lybrand LLP. Mr. Schechter is also a director of Avici Systems, Inc., a provider of purpose-built carrier-class routing solutions for the Internet, MapInfo Corporation, a developer of location-based software services and solutions, and Moldflow Corporation, a provider of software solutions for optimizing the design and manufacture of plastic products.
Bradford D. Woloson has served as one of our directors since April 2000. Since 1994, Mr. Woloson has served in several positions at JMI Equity Fund, a venture capital firm, including most recently as a General Partner.
